The leading authority on EC competition law, now fully up to date for 2010 and an essential purchase for all EC competition law practitioners. The new pack includes the 6th edition Main Work, a brand new updating supplement incorporating all major developments in substantive law and case law since December 2007, and an updated 2010 edition of the accompanying volume of EC competition law materials containing all the relevant legislation with cross-references to the Main Work. The Main Work examines the impact of modernisation on enforcement by national authorities and courts, while coverage of national decisions post-modernisation is integrated in the book, using information collated from a network of key correspondents in the Member States. Increased coverage of the new system has been introduced in particular within the chapter on the Community Context and the Role of Member States. The supplement contains paragraph by paragraph updates on legislative and case law developments, including commentary on their significance.
It includes sections that headline new case and legislation from the Community institutions, and that outline significant developments in the courts of the member states. There are also updates on merger cases and materials and an updated list of reported cases. The comprehensive accompanying volume of European Community competition law materials (edited by Andrew Macnab, a barrister at Monckton Chambers) has been fully updated to include all of the relevant legislation, Commission Notices and Guidelines, and as a new feature now provides detailed cross-references to the commentary in the main work.
Peter Roth QC has recently been appointed as a High Court judge to the Chancery Division and was formerly a barrister at Monckton Chambers and a visiting Professor at King's College, London. He is also Chairman of the Competition Law Association and a member of the London Court of International Arbitration. Vivien Rose is a barrister, a member of the Government Legal Service, and on the panel of chairmen of the Competition Appeal Tribunal.
