John Candlish took degrees in science and law from the Universities of St Andrews, London and Singapore, and has held academic positions in Scotland, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Singapore. He is the author of several books, including Hawking Genes, Selling Spleens: the Human Body and the Laws of Property (UNIMAS Press, Kuching, 2006), and has contributed articles to several journals.
