Classical Mechanics develops the subject gradually by illustrating several examples for the beginners. In this book, the Euler's method, Euler's angles and motion of a symmetrical top, the variational principle and its applications, the canonical transformations and two important mechanical tools - Poisson and Lagrange brackets are incorporated.
Classical Mechanics develops the subject gradually by illustrating several examples for the beginners. The text begins with Newton's laws, the fundamental formulae of particle dynamics. But, it is known that these laws are not applicable in some cases, viz. the rotating frames. The rotating frames and the effect of Coriolis forces are introduced in this book along with Lagrangian and Hamiltonian procedures. The Euler's method, Euler's angles and motion of a symmetrical top, the variational principle and its applications, the principle of least action, the canonical transformations and two important mechanical tools - Poisson and Lagrange brackets are incorporated in this book. The problems involved in small oscillation are solved by finding eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the kinetic energy and potential energy matrices. The last chapter is devoted to the special theory of relativity.
