JANINA BRUTT-GRIFFLER is Associate Professor of Foreign and Second Language Acquisition at The State University of New York, Buffalo, USA. CATHERINE EVANS DAVIES is Associate Professor of Linguistics in the Department of English at the University of Alabama, USA.
