Mixed-Matrix Membranes
Mixed-matrix membranes are identified as a new type of membranes being more efficient due to the inorganic particles in their structure. In industry they can be a good substitute for old methods which consume a lot of energy. Thus, the present research scrutinizes different filling particles used in this group of membranes, applications, shortcomings and the challenges of producing these types of membranes.
This book explains the key parameters in the fabrication methods through blending of polymeric and non-polymeric materials containing different components in their chemical structures. It is a complete overview of all relevant and similar references in the field of membrane technology in oil, gas and petrochemicals, by considering standards and the way of performing separation techniques and implementing projects.
Vahid Pirouzfar earned his PhD degree in Chemical Process Engineering, process design, simulation and control from Tarbiat Modares University. He has been working as a faculty member at the IAU since 2011, and currently he is a faculty member and associate professor at Islamic Azad University-Central Tehran Branch.
Since 2007 he has been working in large companies, refineries, consultant and contractor research institutes such as Oil and Energy Industries Development Company(OEID), Central Petrochemicals (4 big petrochemical complexes producing ethylene, HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE), Energy Renovation & Reclamation Consultants (Mabna), Iran Industrial Consultants Company, Middle East Energy Development Engineers Company (M.E.D. Co.), also the Oil and Energy Research Institutes in the fields of Oil, Gas, Petrochemical and Energy in Upstream and Downstream Industries, with various occupations as expert, master, supervisor, head of project and engineering department and managing director. He cooperated with international reputable and important companies like Shell and Sinopec during his activity. Dr. Pirouzfar is a writer of numerous international articles and books, he has proposed many different presentations and reports in the field of engineering activities. He is also the editor, referee, manager and scientific executive director of many international and national journals and conferences. In addition to teaching various university courses, he has organized so many managerial and engineering courses, especially the process design and simulation engineering specialized courses. His favorite fields of training and researches is conceptual design of industrial processes, process integration, pinch technology, separation and membrane processes, combustion safety, modeling and simulation, fuel and energy. He is the top graduated of Tarbiat Modares University at the doctorate level and the Iranians brilliant talent from the Ministry of science.
