When starting research on a basin, researchers and professionals are confronted with how to reveal the general architecture of basin fills and depict three-dimensional geometry, and the internal architecture of subsurface depositional bodies and their arrangement, hence this book is a great tome on necessary areas of exploration.
Changsong Lin is a professor of geology in the China University of Geosciences in Beijing. He received his B.S. degree from China University of Geosciences in Wuhan in 1981, and his M.S. degree in 1984 and Ph.D. in 1988 from the China University of Geosciences in Beijing. He worked in China University of Geosciences in Beijing from 1988 to 1992 and carried out a post-doctoral research in Liverpool University during 1992 to 1994. Since 1995, he has worked as a professor of geology in China University of Geosciences in Beijing. He was employed as the head of the school of energy resources during 1996-2000, and the head of the school of ocean sciences during 2011-2016 in the university. His research interests include seismic stratigraphy and sequence stratigraphy, siliciclastic and carbonate depositional systems, basin analysis and basin modeling.
