Biogas to Biomethane
Woodhead Publishing (Verlag)
978-0-443-18479-6 (ISBN)
Additional sections discuss biosafety in relation to the technologies and processes discussed throughout the book and assess the sustainability of biomethane through lifecycle assessments and techno-economic and policy perspectives. This is an invaluable reference for researchers and industry engineers interested in biogas upgradation and the production of biomethane, and will be of interest to multidisciplinary teams working across Renewable Energy, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, and Sustainability Science.
Dr. Abu Yousuf is a Research Associate in the School of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, University of Oklahoma, in the United States. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Naples Federico II, Italy. His primary research interests include renewable energy, biorefinery, energy storage and waste-to-energy, and he is currently working with protonic ceramic fuel cells at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Yousuf has published over 60 papers in reputed ISI and Scopus-indexed journals, 19 conference papers and 15 book chapters, and is the Editor of 5 books, as well as serving as an editorial board member for several reputed journals. He received the Dean’s Award from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh, in 2019 and 2021, for his research, and won the ‘International invention of the year award’ at the British Invention Show, London, UK in 2017, for his work on Hybrid Energy Generation for Highway Lighting Systems. Dr Lynsey Melville is Professor of Environmental Engineering in the Faculty of Computing Engineering and Built Environment, Birmingham City University, UK. She leads the Bioresource and Bioeconomy research group whose focus is on accelerating the adoption of environmentally sustainable and commercially viable energy from biomass. Since joining BCU she has been PI or CO-I on 11 peer reviewed funded projects with a total project value of >£20M. This funding has come from UK research councils (including Global Challenges Research Funding), EU programmes, British Council as well as commercial consultancy. Working with over 40 academic partners and more than 30 industry partners across 7 countries, her most recent projects have included working with rural communities in Bangaldesh, South Africa and Indonesia. With expertise spanning various areas of environmental engineering (from water and wastewater treatment, organic waste management and bioenergy production) she has provided expert support to both industry and academia and her work has sought to bridge the gap between the two.
