This book provides soil and environmental scientists with the tools they need to build the links between micro-level surface chemistry and macro-level engineering performance.
Zhengtao Shen is a Killam Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Alberta. Dr. Shen received his PhD degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Cambridge with a thesis topic of “Characteristics and Mechanisms of Heavy Metal Adsorption on Biochar and Its Application in Soil Remediation and Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in the School of Earth Sciences and Engineering at Nanjing University. Dr. Shen has been working in the biochar area, especially focusing on its application for soil remediation, for near 10 years. He has published over 50 refereed journal papers on ES&T, JHM etc., two book chapters, and has ~1000 citations.
