Fractal Algorithm and Its Application in Rock Mechanics (eBook)
VII, 181 Seiten
Springer Singapore (Verlag)
978-981-16-9716-6 (ISBN)
This book focuses on learning and adapting nonlinear geometry tool in rock engineering through fractal theories, hypotheses, algorithm, practical understandings, and case studies. Understanding self-similarity and self-affinity is a prerequisite to the fractal model in rock mechanics. The book aims to provide a guide for the readers seeking to understand and build nonlinear model by fractal algorithm. The book is motivated by recent rapid advances in rock engineering in China including application of fractal theory, in addition to percolation theory. It is an essential reference to the most promising innovative rock engineering. Chapters are carefully developed to cover (1) new fractal algorithms (2) five engineering cases. This authored book addresses the issue with a holistic and systematic approach that utilizes fractal theory to nonlinear behavior in rock engineering.
The book is written for researchers interested in rock and geological engineering as well as organizations engaged in underground energy practices.
Dr. Dongjie Xue is an associate professor at China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing). He received his BA at Shandong University of Science in 2007 and Technology, MA and PhD at China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing) in 2010 and 2013. He served as an associate professor at China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing) since 2017. Xue also serves as an associated editor-in-chief of International Journal of Coal Science and Technology, young member of editorial board of International Journal of Mining Science and Technology (English and Chinese Edition).Xue has long-term experience with rock mechanics in energy development and mining engineering, including fluid and gas flow in porous and fracture media, fracture behavior of geo-materials and non-continuum mechanics of mining, as well as critical mechanics and cluster mechanics.
Xue received scientific and educational awards including two times of the First Class Prize of the Science and Technology Award by Ministry of Education of China, Second Class Prize of the Science and Technology Award by the People's Government of Henan Province. Xue has authored two books and edited three books and over 70 refereed journal papers. And all the jobs are supported by the National Natural Science Foundation for Young Scientists of China(Grant No. 51504257),Open Funds of State Key Laboratory of Water Resource Protection and Utilization in Coal Mining (Grant No. GJNY-20-113-04) and Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities(Grant No. JCCXLJ01)
