This book focuses on the application of virtual reality (VR) technology in mining machinery. It gives a detailed introduction to the application of VR technology in virtual assembly, virtual planning, and virtual monitoring. Based on the theory of digital twin, VR technology and collaborative control technology are applied to coal mining machinery equipment, which lays a foundation for the digitalization and intellectualization of coal machinery equipment and broadens the application scope of virtual reality technology in the mechanical engineering field. Through the application of VR technology in coal machinery equipment, this book provides new methods and ideas for teaching activities, scientific research activities, and actual production with rich illustrations, related table introduction, unique research ideas, and other unique contents. This book could be a useful reference for researchers in mining machinery, simulation and modeling, computer-aided engineering (CAD and CAE) and design, visualization, mechanical engineering, and other disciplines.

Dr. Xuewen Wang received his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering and Automation from Taiyuan University of Science and Technology, Shanxi, in 2001, and the M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Design and Theory from Taiyuan University of Technology, Shanxi, in 2004 and 2008, respectively. From September 2008 to Jun 2010, Dr. Wang was in College of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering, Taiyuan University of Technology working as Lecturer. From June 2010 to December 2016, Dr. Wang was in the same college working as Associate Professor. Since December 2016, Dr. Wang has been in the same college working as Professor. Dr. Wang focuses on the research of modern mechanical design theory and method. His recent research interests include discrete element of mining machinery, optimization design of mining machinery and equipment, digitalization and informatization of mining machinery and equipment, virtual reality design of mining machinery products, etc.

Dr. Jiacheng Xie received his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering and Automation from Taiyuan University of Science and Technology, Shanxi, in 2012, the M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Design and Theory from Taiyuan University of Technology, Shanxi, in 2015 and 2018, respectively. Dr. Xie has been in College of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering, Taiyuan University of Technology working as Associate professor since 2018. His recent research interests include digitalization and informatization of mining machinery and equipment, virtual reality design of mining machinery products.

Suhua Li received her B.E. in Mechanical Design Manufacture and Automation Major from University of Jinan, Shandong, in 2018, the M.E. degrees in Mechanical Design and Theory from Taiyuan University of Technology, in 2021, Shanxi. She has been pursuing the Ph.D degree in Mechanical Design and Theory from Taiyuan University of Technology since 2021, in Shanxi.
