Vineet Kumar Rai is Professor of Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology at Dhanbad (India). Professor Rai holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Banaras Hindu University. He worked as a Research Associate at the same university, and a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Federal University of Pernambuco (Brazil). Professor Rai's main interest is in the synthesis and optical characterization of lanthanides-activated advanced materials, including the upconversion spectroscopy of rare earth ions doped advanced optical materials and their applications.
