Professor Rong Cao is Director of Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter, Chinese Academy of Sciences (FJIRSM, CAS) and Director of Institute of Urban Environment, CAS. He received his B.S. degree in Chemical Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China, Ph.D. in Chemical Physics from FJIRSM CAS and a recipient of the Research Assistant at Hongkong Polytechnic University and the JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship Program for Foreign Researchers at Nagoya University. Since 2002, he became a full professor and PI at FJIRSM, CAS. He has received numerous scientific awards, including the second Prize in China's State Natural Science Award (2002, the third author), the first Prize in Natural Sciences of Chinese Academy of Sciences (2001, the third author); the Second Prize in Natural Sciences of Chinese Academy of Sciences (2000, the second author); the first Prize in Natural Sciences of Fujian province; National Science Fund of Distinguished Young Scholars (2003); Special allowances experts of the State Council (2004); National Candidate of New Century Talents Project (2006); China Youth Science and Technology Award (2006) and so on.
