Dr. Caineng Zou, born in Chongqing in Sept., 1963, is the founder of unconventional petroleum geology and the scientist in energy strategy in China. He serves as the academician in Chinese Academy of Sciences, and is interested in petroleum exploration and development.
He devotes himself to the establishment and application of unconventional petroleum geology, promoting the exploring strategy and the industrial breakthrough. He analyzes the current strategic situation for energy needs and supplies in the world, proposing the 'Hydrogen China' and 'Energy Independence' strategies in China.
He has published 257 journal papers and 8 books including Unconventional Petroleum Geology and New Energy worldwide. He has been selected in the list of Chinese Most Cited Researchers by Elsevier in 2019. He gained 3 approvals for the national standards, and several awards in the National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology.
This book comprehensively and systematically introduces the principles, key technologies and main types of new energy utilization based on the analysis and prospect of global energy development trend and energy transformation law. Starting from the basic law of energy development, this book points out the inevitability of the development of fossil energy to non-fossil new energy, expounds scientifically and prospectively the importance of developing new energy to conform to the law of energy development and to ensure national energy security, introduces in detail various new energy technologies, summarizes the new strategies of traditional energy companies, and expounds respectively current situation and application prospect. Part IV "e;New Energy Theories"e;, includes hydrogen energy, energy storage and new materials, geothermal, nuclear energy, wind and tide and other new energy sources.
