Underground Thermal Energy Storage gives a general overview of UTES from basic concepts and classifications to operation regimes. As well as discussing general procedures for design and construction, thermo-hydro geological modeling of UTES systems is explained. Finally, current real life data and statistics are include to summarize major global developments in UTES over the past decades.
The concise style and thorough coverage makes Underground Thermal Energy Storage a solid introduction for students, engineers and geologists alike.
From 1991 to 1995, Kun Sang Lee worked on the analysis of geopressureed geothermal reservoirs as a research assistant at Center for Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering, University of Texas at Austin, U.S.A. Obtaining a Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Austin in 1995, Kun Sang Lee worked as a research specialist at Kumho & Co. and as a lecturer at Seoul National University. During 1998-2011, Kun Sang Lee has worked on various aspects of geothermal energy and reservoir engineering as a professor of Environmental and Energy Systems Engineering at Kyonggi University. Currently, he is a professor of Natural Resources and Environmental Engineering at Hanyang University.
