River Monsters is Moby Dick in fresh water - a mixture of science, adventure and detective story, served up with real, live monsters of the deep.
'...The river is a roar in my ears as the unseen creature starts to drag me, step by stumbling step, towards the murderous water at the tail of the pool, and the moment when I go no further on land. This is the archetypal monster I have been after all of my life...' Jeremy Wade is the angling explorer of his generation - and he is on a mission to find the world's most deadly, blood thirsty river monsters - and live to tell the tale. These freshwater creatures are every bit as spectacular as those that prowl the oceans: man-eating catfish, bullsharks, giant eels, and super-piranahas, all discovered and fearlessly caputred by Jeremy, for us all to see. From the Congo to Australia, the Himalayas to the Amazon, River Monsters in a compelling expedition; led by one man's unsatiable desire to find what lurks beneath. This is the fisherman's tale made flesh, and Jeremy's unique and thrilling first-hand account, and scientific analysis of the world's most unfathamable river monsters.
