This volume records current gravitational-wave experiments, including interferometers, resonant-mass and Doppler tracking detectors. Theoretical investigations on all possible gravitational-wave sources, with subjects such as black holes and cosmic stochastic background are also presented.
Following the example of the First Edoardo Amaldi Conference, which took place in Frascati, Italy, in 1994, this conference brought together scientists from all over the world involved in the various aspects of today's gravitational-wave research. The meeting provided a forum for discussing the recent developments in this field and promoted coordinated efforts towards an international network of gravitational-wave detectors. This volume records the state-of-the-art of gravitational-wave experiments, including interferometers, resonant-mass and Doppler tracking detectors. An entire section is devoted to the subject of data analysis. The latest theoretical investigations on all possible gravitational-wave sources, with fascinating subjects such as black holes and cosmic stochastic background, are also presented. Various problems and perspectives of this research are reported in clear topical contributions.
