"The present writing comprises legislative and sociological, medical and historical expositions that encircle within the global struggle against terrorism, displaying though its own specific features, namely bio-terrorism. For an efficient prevention of bio-terrorism, in the first instance, a thorough understanding of what we are actually dealing with is needed; what exactly bio-terrorism stands for and what the use of mass destruction weapons implies; which the direct consequences this might involve, should such a happening occur, as well as to determine the level of coping of the contemporary society to confront and respond to such occurrence. Within the current socio-historical auspices, this writing is of extreme present interest, absorbing itself in the world-wide scientific endeavors of the kind. The aim of the hereby presented writing is to scientifically bring together the knowledge related to the human infectious diseases with the animal ones, to the present infectious diseases of the animal kingdom knowledge, thus being created the general framework enabling the legislative authority to become aware of the phenomenon and legally settling the bio-terrorism issue in a coherent and realistic manner, with an immediate practical applicability. The herein introduced writings bear the signature of personalities in the medical domain, scientists in the sociological, legal and historic areas, each of them bringing their own contribution to the struggle against bio-terrorism."
