He has authored many peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and lectured nationally on nutrition and its relationship to disease of the gastrointestinal tract. Dr. Burns did his medical residency and nutrition fellowship at Beth-Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, and a gastrointestinal fellowship at the Lahey Clinic where he is active in the education of doctors training in gastroenterology.
