Lipid-based drug delivery systems uses lipids to make drugs more soluble in water and better able to function in the body. This book assembles a group of experienced authors on the frontline of pharmaceutical sciences to develop a comprehensive resource on the fundamentals and formulation and biopharmaceutical issues of lipid-based drug delivery.
Lipid-based drug delivery systems is an emerging field that uses lipids to make drugs more soluble in water and better able to function in the body. This book assembles a group of experienced authors on the frontline of pharmaceutical sciences to develop a comprehensive resource on the fundamentals and formulation and biopharmaceutical issues of lipid-based drug delivery.

KISHOR M. WASAN, PhD, is a Professor and Distinguished University Scholar at The University of British Columbia Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. He is the Chairman of the AAPS Focus Group in Parenteral Lipid--Based Drug Delivery Systems. His research has earned him over $10 million in grants and funding, and he has written over 290 peer--reviewed publications and abstracts. In addition, he holds five patents and has worked as a consultant and publications reviewer. Dr. Wasan is a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AAPS) and a member of the Canadian Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences, American Pharmacists Association (APhA), and Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery Awards Committee, among others.
