This updated edition of a reference on echocardiography and Doppler in both adults and children now includes extensive use of colour, and covers new techniques and approaches, such as, exercise echo, intravascular ultrasound, intraoperative and transoesophageal echo.
Bronchoscopy is well-established as an essential diagnostic procedure in lung disease. However, its role in therapy is more recent and controversial and not covered in existing texts. This comprehensive textbook will cover all aspects of rigid and fiberoptic bronchoscopy, from technique and applied pathology to treatment of lung cancer with lasers or local radiation. All diagnostic and therapeutic options, including lasers, stents and brachytherapy, are included, with indications for particular diseases. Obviously lung cancer is an important part of this but other new procedures have been developed for benign but disabling lung disease.
