Professor Kokila Lakhoo is a consultant paediatric surgeon at the Children's Hospital in Oxford and the University of Oxford. Recently she received an honorary professorship from University of Witwatersrand Johannesburg, South Africa and Muhimbili University, Tanzania. She is director of a global surgery course for Oxford University and represents Oxford University for children's global surgery matters. She is chair of the international forum for the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons and is personally developing paediatric surgery through a link in Tanzania, Malawi and South Africa. She is the president of GICS that has followed on from the Lancet Commission. She is editor of 4 books including a recent joint venture with her African colleague as editor to a text book namely "Paediatric Surgery: a comprehensive text for Africa"(publisher Global-Help Publishers).She has to date contributed to 71 chapters to paediatric surgical text books and has over 300 peer reviewed publications.

Dr. Abdelhafeez is the director of global onco-surgery program, St. Jude Children's Research, Memphis, Tennessee, USA. He is leading the efforts of onco-surgical education and training in limited-resources setting. He currently serves as the oncology group lead for the Global Initiative of Children's Surgery (GICS) and a member of the education committee of the International Society of Paediatric Surgical Oncology (IPSO). 

Professor Simone de Campos Vieira Abib MD, PhD is the head of Paediatric Surgical Oncology at the Paediatric Oncology Institute-GRAACC/Federal University of São Paulo and mentor for master, doctoral and postdoc candidates. She is the academic coordinator for Santa Marcelina medical school, the president of the NGO Criança Segura - Safe Kids Brazil, the chair for paediatric surgical oncology chapter of the Brazilian Paediatric Oncology Society and for the Brazilian Paediatric Surgery Association, and the founder of the Latin American Paediatric Surgical Oncology Collaborative Group, and is the IPSO president-elect.
