Mahmut Tayyar Kalcioglu, MD, is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Istanbul Medeniyet University in Istanbul, Türkiye. He is also the former dean of the same faculty. He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in Ankara, Türkiye in 1987. He completed his residency in Otorhinolaryngology at Inonu University, Malatya, Turkey in 2000. He worked as an observer at Baylor Medical College, Houston, USA in 1999. Currently, he is the President of the International Cochlear Implant Society, Vice President of the Balkan Otorhinolaryngology & Head and Neck Association, Vice President of the German-Turkish ENT Society, Delegate of the Otorhinolaryngology Section of the European Union of Medical Specialists, Board Member of Istanbul Medeniyet University Research Center, President of the 12th Turkish National Otology and Neurotology Congress, Secretary of the 46th Turkish National Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery Congress and Secretary of the 13th Balkan Congress of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery and the 3rd Congress of Central and West Asian Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery Associations, one of the Organizing Committee member of the World Congress (IFOS Istanbul), and Chief Editor of Medeniyet Medical Journal which is indexed in Web of Science, PubMed and Scopus. He is also one of the Guest Editors of Supplements in a SCI-Expanded Journal. His interests include basic research, neuroscience, otology, neurotology, and cochlear implants and other implantable hearing devices. He has published 148 international and 52 national papers. He is the editor of a national book. He has more than 1300 citations in Web of Science indexed journals with an H-index of 22.
Nuray Bayar Muluk, MD, has been a Professor at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Kirikkale University Faculty of Medicine in Kirikkale, Türkiye, since 2008. She graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1990 as the first of her term; and completed her ENT residency at the same University in 1994. Her interests include basic research, cancer, neuroscience, rhinology, and allergy. Her publication record includes 345 international and 77 national papers. Additionally, she is an author or co-editor of 13 international books, 6 national books, and 2 translated books. Furthermore, she serves as one of the guest editors of supplements in a SCI-Expanded Journal 4-times. Dr. Bayar Muluk has contributed significantly to various book chapters, authoring 128 international chapters, 49 national book chapters, and 11 translated book chapters. She has more than 2790 citations in Web of Science indexed journals. In recognition of her expertise and accomplishments, she holds several key positions at Kirikkale University. Dr. Bayar Muluk is appointed as Advisor to the Rector, where she is responsible for Research and Development. Moreover, she is a Vice President and Board Member of Kirikkale University's Cancer Research and Application Center. Additionally, she serves as Member of Quality Committee at Kirikkale University.
Herman Jenkins, MD completed his medical degree in 1970 at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Nashville, Tennessee and in 1977 his residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles, California. Following his residency training, he joined the departmental faculty at UCLA. He was awarded a NIH five-year research training grant, one year of which supported his fellowship in neurotology with Professor Ugo Fisch at the University of Zurich. In 1981, he moved to Baylor College of Medicine, rising to the rank of Professor, and after 19 years moved on to the University of Colorado School of Medicine as a Tenured Professor and Chair, Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
