Professor Gagik V. Hakobyan is a Doctor of Medical Sciences, (DMSC,PhD), Head of the Department of Surgical Stomatology and Maxillofacial Surgery at Yerevan State Medical University, Armenia. He was educated from 1978-1983 at Yerevan State Medical Institute, Armenia. Professor Hakobyan is Editor-in-Chief of the scientific and practical journal 'Bulletin of Stomatology and Maxillofacial Surgery'. He is author of over 100 scientific articles published in international scientific journals and in scientific collections of international congresses. He is the author of educational text book "Dental Implantology", and co-author of text books including: "Propaedeutics of Surgical Dentistry", "Surgical Stomatology and Maxillofacial surgery", "Neuropathies of the maxillofacial region", and "Alternative implantologic decisions for severe atrophic maxilla". His research interests include: Oral surgery, implantology, periodontology, prosthodontics. He is also a board member of the Association of Dentists of Armenia, a member of the Armenian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and a Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International.
