This practically based assessment tool for use by speech language therapists and occupational therapists aims to demystify augmentative communication and provide the reader with a structured and user-friendly guide to assessment for augmentative communication; given the lack of access most professionals have to high technology, the manual concentrates on assessment methods that utilise everyday materials; charts are provided to guide the assessment process and details of current devices available are included, along with an in-depth comparison of their strengths and weaknesses. This book is an essential tool to guide the multidisciplinary team through the complex process of AAC assessment.
