Abhilash P M is a research associate in Smart Manufacturing at the Centre for Precision Manufacturing (CPM) at the University of Strathclyde, UK. His research interests are smart manufacturing, condition monitoring, Digital Twins, Explainable AI (XAI), additive manufacturing, signal/image processing, and precision and non-traditional manufacturing. He received his PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad (India) in 2021 (PhD coursework from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras). He was an assistant professor at the Sreepathy Institute of Management and Technology (India) from 2015 to 2018. He has over 20 journal articles in peer-reviewed and reputed international journals. He is a member of the International Academy of Engineering and Technology (AET) and has recently won the best paper award for his presentation at the nano man & AETS International conference, in 2022. Kishor Kumar Gajrani is an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIIT DM), Kancheepuram, Chennai, India. He has an MTech and Ph.D. from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. Thereafter, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. He has published 47+ international journals and book chapters of repute as well as attended numerous conferences. He is co-editor of four books titled Advances in Sustainable Machining and Manufacturing Processes, Biodegradable Composites for Packaging Applications, Sustainable Materials and Manufacturing Technologies, and Hybrid Metal Additive Manufacturing. He was listed in the “World’s Top 2% scientists” consequently for the years 2022 and 2023 by Stanford University. His research interests are broadly related to the advancement of sustainable machining processes, additive manufacturing, advanced materials, micro-manufacturing, coatings, green lubricants, and biodegradable packaging. Xichun Luo is a professor in ultra-precision manufacturing and technical director of the Centre for Precision Manufacturing (CPM) at the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow). He is an Elected Fellow of the International Society for Nanomanufacturing, the International Academy of Engineering and Technology, and the International Association of Advanced Materials. His research interests include ultra-precision machining, hybrid micromachining, nanofabrication, and digital manufacturing. He obtained his PhDs at Harbin Institute of Technology (China) and Leeds Metropolitan University (UK). From 2004 to 2007, he worked at Cranfield University as a research officer and delivered world-leading research in ultra-precision diamond turning and grinding of freeform optics. From 2007 to 2012, he was a lecturer at Heriot-Watt University. From 2012 to 2013, he was a Reader in ultra-precision manufacturing at the University of Huddersfield where he leads an Advanced Machining Research Group. He received funding from EPSRC, EC, SFC, ROE, and industries (Renishaw, STMicroelectronics, Spanoptic, etc.). Prof. Luo won two Best Paper Awards from Nanomanufacturing and Metrology (Springer) and International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing (IoP) in 2021, respectively. He also won the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) 2015 Ludwig Mond Prize for research and development of novel digital tools for micro and nanomanufacturing. He has over 200 publications, including 2 books, 4 invited book chapters, 150 papers in highly ranked journals (27.8% of his publications are in the top 10% most cited worldwide; Scopus h-index: 44; Google Scholar h-index: 49), 65 conference papers, and 2 patents.
