Contains authoritative clinical guidelines and rehabilitation approaches for the major disabling neurological disorders.
In two freestanding but linked volumes, Textbook of Neural Repair and Rehabilitation provides comprehensive coverage of the science and practice of neurological rehabilitation. This volume, Medical Neurorehabilitation, can stand alone as a clinical handbook for neurorehabilitation. It covers the practical applications of the basic science principles presented in volume 1, provides authoritative guidelines on the management of disabling symptoms, and describes comprehensive rehabilitation approaches for the major categories of disabling neurological disorders. Emphasizing the integration of basic and clinical knowledge, this book and its companion are edited and written by leading international authorities. Together they are an essential resource for neuroscientists and provide a foundation for the work of clinical neurorehabilitation professionals .

Michael Selzer is Professor of Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania and Research Director in the Department of Physical Medicine Rehabilitation. He is editor-in-chief of Neurorehabilitation and Neural Repair, the official Journal of the American Society of Neurorehabilitation and the World Federation of Neurorehabilitation. Stephanie Clarke is Professor and Head of Neuropsychology at the University Hospital, Lausanne and President of the Swiss Society of Neurorehabilitation. Leonardo G. Cohen is Chief of the Human Cortical Physiology Section and the Stroke Neurorehabilitation Clinic at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, NIH, Bethesda, MD. Pamela Duncan is Professor of Health Services Administration and Physical Therapy, and Director of the University of Florida Brooks Center for Rehabilitation Studies, University of Florida. Fred Gage is Professor in the Laboratory of Genetics at the Salk Institute, and served as President of the Society for Neuroscience, 2001-2. He is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Medicine.
