Dr. Jensen is an Assistant Professor, in the Department of Medical Biology, at the University of Amsterdam. His research focus is cardiac evolution from fish to man. He also studies expression of genes, development, anatomy, and physiology. He is interested in the evolutional conservation of the building plan of the heart, in the rich variation of cardiac chambers, septa, and architecture. Dr. Bas Boukens is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology at Maastricht University. He has researched and studied arrhythmogenic remodeling in explanted human hearts and dynamics of ventricular fibrillation in sheep. He’s also investigated the mechanism of arrhythmias in J-wave syndromes, the role of autonomic nervous system in cardiac repolarization and in mechanisms of arrhythmias resulting from acute ischemia.
