with free CD presenting dynamic images including tomographic studies not covered in the book.
DESCRIPTION As nuclear medicine technology has evolved, the techniques have increasingly been applied in children. In the main, practitioners have been dependent on adapting procedures performed in adults according to the age and size of the child. This comprehensive atlas contains examples of all the cases, both common and uncommon, that are likely to be seen by those working in either a dedicated paediatric nuclear medicine facility, or a general nuclear medicine or radiology department where both adults and children are seen. The material is organised by organ system. Within each organ system, images of normal anatomy by age are presented allowing quick reference to anatomical varients. The various patholophysiologic processes that might be encountered in children are then described, with appropriate examples to demonstrate the role of nuclear medicine in solving clinical problems. Sections dedicated to clinical paediatric PET and paediatric bone densitometry will ensure that this book is 'state of the art' on publication. The inclusion of technical tips and protocols will be particularly helpful to departments where imaging the paediatric patient is not routine. An accompanying CD-ROM will be used to present dynamic images including tomographic studies which are integral to nuclear medicine practice.
