Sexual problems that cannot be explained by obvious illness or disease are likely to remain untreated. This study aims to help doctors and nurses to recognize such conditions and deal sensitively with them. A range of approaches within the field are covered.
Sexual problems that cannot be explained by obvious illness or disease are likely to remain untreated. The standard undergraduate medical curriculum do not usually include teaching on the subject. This book, which distinguishes the common themes in psychosexual medicine, will go a long way to helping doctors, and some of their specialist colleagues in other health disciplines, to know who to refer and how to listen with sensitivity. Those with a special interest will go on to further training. The study provides an opportunity for appraisal of the scope of psychosexual medicine and the individual approaches of its practitioners. Each chapter may be read in isolation, however.
