This updated edition of the book provides radiation oncologists with a structured, state-of-the-art guide to target volume delineation for all major cancer types.

It provides an overview of recent advances in radiation treatment techniques and multimodal imaging for radiation treatment planning. It also offers clear and structured guidelines for the contouring of target volumes and organs at risk, taking into account the available imaging modalities including PET/CT and multiparametric MR imaging. Each chapter addresses the target volume concepts of a particular tumor type and has been written by experts in the field.
Covering all major tumor entities, the book provides practicing radiation oncologists with a guide to defining target volumes based on multimodal imaging.

lt;br>Anca-Ligia Grosu is a Clinical Professor and Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Freiburg - Medical Center in Freiburg, Germany. She focuses on integrating multimodal imaging into radiation therapy planning and monitoring, and she has been the principal investigator in several prospective imaging trials. Her clinical specialty is brain radiation oncology and she has published numerous papers and several textbooks on the topic.

Carsten Nieder is a board-certified radiation oncologist and clinical oncologist at the Department of Oncology and Palliative Medicine, Nordland Hospital Trust, Bodø, Norway. He is also a Professor at the University of Tromsø - The Arctic University of Norway (translational cancer research group). He was the editor of the book series Medical Radiology - Radiation Oncology, published by Springer, and has also published numerous peer-reviewed articles covering a broad range of radiotherapy-related topics.

Nils Henrik Nicolay is Professor and Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Leipzig Medical Center in Leipzig, Germany. He is a board-certified radiation oncologist with a focus on head-and-neck radiation therapy. He is also a radiation biologist with a particular interest in translational radiation oncology, as well as integrating molecular and imaging biomarkers into radiotherapy planning and treatment/outcome prediction.
