Imaging Spine After Treatment
Springer International Publishing (Verlag)
978-3-031-42550-9 (ISBN)
This atlas illustrates the characteristics of imaging after surgical spine treatment. The previous edition has been thoroughly updated and new surgical treatment options are presented. Furthermore, all clinical cases feature new images with the new sequences available from the manufacturers of Magnetic Resonance scanners.
The imaging methods presented in the book are MRI, involving the use of routine basic sequences and advanced study techniques, and CT with and without administration of contrast medium.
The modifications of the spine, both healthy and pathological, that can occur immediately after surgical treatment and in the long term, are described in detail.Atlas contents are organized in a general part, with the classification of spine pathology and the surgical treatment options, and a part with clinical cases enriched by a wealth of images.
This easy-to-consult publication addresses neuroradiologists who wish to gain an adequate expertise in post-treatment examinations reporting in order to be able to perform an effective differential diagnosis.
lt;p>Tommaso Scarabino is currently the director of the radiology department at the local health public company "ASL BAT" located in Andria (BT) Italy. He previously worked at the "Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza" hospital located in San Giovanni Rotondo (FG) Italy, taking on the role of director of the Neuroradiology Unit and dealing mainly with advanced imaging techniques in CT and MRI. He has been conductor of numerous scientific studies in the neuroradiological field making use, among the first in Europe since 2003, of a 3 tesla MRI scanner. He is the author of dozens of publications in the neuroradiological field in national and international journals, he has developed particular expertise in the study of brain tumors with advanced MR techniques such as diffusion, perfusion, spectroscopy and cortical activation. He is the author of several textbooks in the neuroradiological field with a particular latter focus on post-treatment MR imaging. He is the organizer of numerous scientific conferences periodically illustrating progress in MRI diagnostics. Currently he continues to work on advanced neuroradiological imaging every day. Over the years, he has developed management skills in the management of health services and in risk.

Currently and since January 2008 he is working at the radiology unit of the "L. Bonomo" Hospital ASL BAT Andria in Italy. He deals mainly with MRI neuroradiological imaging with particular focus on brain tumor studies with advanced study techniques. Over the years he developed expertise in vascular imaging with ultrasound and cardiology imaging with computed tomography. He is the author of several publications in the neuroradioloigic field, he is an editor co-editor or contributor of several texts in radiology, he has participated as the speaker at dozens of conferences and meetings
