lt;p>Dr Katja Fischer is a Group Leader at the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute in Brisbane. She completed her undergraduate training as a molecular parasitologist at the University of Freiburg, Germany, followed by a PhD in molecular biology of malaria parasites at the University of Würzburg, Germany, followed by post doc positions at QIMR Berghofer MRI. She became Laboratory Head in 2007 and Group Leader in 2013. Her laboratory at the QIMR Berghofer MRI is one of very few groups worldwide providing since 2003 continuously crucial biomedical research towards reducing scabies and associated secondary infections.
Olivier CHOSIDOW is Professor of Dermatology and past chair of the Department of Dermatology at the University Paris-est Creteil, Henri Mondor Hospital, Creteil, France. Dermatologist since 1987, he obtained his PhD in clinical pharmacology in 1995 and graduated in clinical epidemiology in 1997. He was President of the French Society of Dermatology in 2013-2014, is an external advisor of the ILDS (International League of Dermatological Societies)-WHO committee, belongs to the IACS (International Alliance for the Control of Scabies) steering committee, and is an ISD (International Society of Dermatology) board member. He received an EADV (European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology) clinical care award in 2015 and an ILDS certificate of appreciation in 2016.He is mainly involved in Skin Infectious Diseases since his internship including scabies and other ectoparasitic diseases (and necrotizing fasciitis, a potential complication of scabies). He is heading numerous randomized clinical trials, mostly academic, granted by the French Ministry of Health. As a clinician researcher, he authored more than 550 articles, including NEJM, Lancet/Lancet ID, BMJ, JAAD, JAMA Dermatology, BJD, JID, IJD, and delivered more than 600 talks at the national, European and international level.
