Doctor John Mayhew has been the All Blacks' official doctor since 1988. He has seen off five All Blacks coaches and treated more than 250 players - with such diverse medical conditions as the common cold to the now famous nephrotic syndrome (Jonah Lomu). His tenure with the All Blacks will finish after the 2003 World Cup. In his time, Mayhew has had a unique perspective into the working of the All Blacks camp and will astound and enlighten readers with some of the more bizarre and tragic happenings that took place. As well he will offer some startling insights on the game since it turned professional in 1995.
Dr Mayhew, runs a sports medicine practice at Auckland's Millennium Institute.
