Highly experienced in minimally invasive surgery, especially Uniportal VATS, his areas of main interest and better performance are sublobar anatomy and resections, bronchovascular sleeve procedures for locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), esophageal surgery and nonintubated procedures under spontaneous breathing. After surgical stays at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH) and Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital (SPH), Dr Galvez has been involved in national societies, and cooperated as reviewer for national and international journals. He’s actually leading one of the most important prospective trials in sublobar resections in Europe (SUBLOB project) and has published several works focused on his areas of main interest. Sergio Bolufer is a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon working at the Hospital General Universitario Dr. Balmis of Alicante, Spain. After surgical stays at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston (USA), Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Mount Sinai Hospital in New York (USA), and Rigshospitalet in Copenhague (Denmark), he developed the VATS program for major pulmonary resections in his hospital after completing his residency in 2009. He currently accumulates extensive experience in complex resections for locally advanced carcinomas, including bronchoangioplastic procedures through this approach. He excels in performing VATS anatomical lung resections, including complex sublobar and bronchovascular sleeve procedures, laryngotracheal surgery as well as mediastinal and chest wall resections. Dr. Bolufer is at the present time the vice-president of the Spanish Society of Thoracic Surgery (SECT) and will be the new president from next year. He has been teaching VATS for more than 10 years as a mentor in Spain and has actively participated in many scientific projects and publications. Santiago Figueroa is a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon working in Valencia, Spain. After visiting Yale Cancer Center and Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital, he developed the minimally invasive thoracic surgery program in his current position, at Hospital Clínico Universitario of Valencia. He has now focused on 3D planning for advanced sublobar lung resections, as well as complex pathology of the airway and mesothelioma surgery. Very involved in scientific societies and committed to different teaching and research projects, he considers himself an enthusiastic surgeon, strongly motivated to spread scientific knowledge. Andres Obeso is a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at Santiago de Compostela University Clinical Hospital. Prior to joining it, Dr. Obeso was on faculty at Cleveland Clinical Abu Dhabi and he was appointed Clinical Associated Professor at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine (Case Western Reserve University, Ohio, USA). During his time in different international hospitals, Dr. Obeso completed more than two thousand surgeries, most of them using minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Obeso frequently contributes as a reviewer on more than 15 international peer-reviewed journals and has authored important articles and book chapters. Among his greatest achievements, Dr. Obeso performed the world's first nonintubated uniportal thoracoscopic sympathectomy in the context of a fast-track program in November 2014, and also discovered and described a new radiological sign "Earth-Heart Sign", which was published in the in the prestigious medical journal The Lancet. Dr. Obeso is interested in surgical innovation and development of new minimally invasive techniques, especially, in the management of Lung Cancer.
