This is our briefest, least expensive micro manual. It is an ideal companion to Black and focuses on realistic applications.
This is a general introduction to the microbiology laboratory, including basic procedures and equipment. It contains 36 exercises which are divided into nine sections: microscopic technique, microbial diversity, microbial cultivation techniques, identification techniques, microbial growth, microbial control, clinical microbiology, virology and applied microbiology. The book is also provided with questions to reinforce understanding of the basic concepts, and to require students to analyze or apply the material under discussion.
