She has held various positions in the Occupational Therapy Association of South Africa (OTASA), and was appointed OTASA Representative on the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) for a total of nineteen years and Vice President of WFOT for four years. She has been awarded Honorary Life Fellowship. She has been an editor on all five editions of Occupational Therapy in Psychiatry and Mental Health, co-editor of Occupational Therapy: An African Perspective, and the author of numerous journal articles and publications.
