The profession of recreational therapy requires you to plan, implement and evaluate the services you offer to your clients. Determining what those services will involve a complex assessment process.
Assessment in Recreational Therapy is an evidence-based guide to help you do just that. Assessment in Recreational Therapy provides direction on how to assess clients in order to determine their specific needs.
The first book of its kind, it's structured to facilitate programme planning for individuals. You will also find assessment protocols for various special populations.
You will also benefit from understanding how the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) system can aid and affirm assessment goals and outcomes. Chapters include practical examples, case studies, reflection questions and learning activities to promote student understanding and assist in the assessment and classification process.
Conducting effective assessments is a vital skill for both current and future professionals working in recreational therapy. Assessment in Recreational Therapy prepares you to perform these assessments and helps you to plan and implement customised services for a range of clients.
