This is a reference on standardized measurements of all the useful parameters of foetal growth. The authors compiled the data from a worldwide search of the literature to provide systematic, standardized measurements of the foetal head, ventricular system, facial features, abdominal and thoracic organs, details of the growth of bones, and eccentric measurements, such as the foetal ear, nasal bone, foot, spleen and gall bladder. Two main sections cover the cephalic amniotic and gestational age indices and the five key foetal growth ratios. The book presents all data in the form of tables and growth curves, including 250 standardized, uniform graphs of essential information about foetal growth. Part 1 The head: biparietal diameter (BPD); fronto-occipital diameter; head circumferences; transverse cerebellar diameter; ventricular system; foetal eye; ear; nose; jaw. Part 2 The abdomen: abdominal diameter; abdominal circumference; abdominal area; stomach; colon; liver; gallbladder; kidney; spleen; adrenal gland. Part 3 The thorax: thoracic circumference; heart; birth weight; gestational sac; crown-rump length. Part 4 The limbs and bones: humerus; radius; ulna; clavicle; scapula; femur; tibia; fibulin; foot. Part 5 Indices: cephalic index; amniotic fluid index; gestational age. Part 6 Ratios: lateral ventricular ratio; atrial width/hemispheric width ratio; femur length/head circumference ratio; head circumference/abdominal circumference ratio; atrial width/cerebroatrial distance ratio.
