Fetal cardiology is an important part of management for high-risk pregnancies: one in every 100 babies is born with a heart problem. Fully updated, this second edition of Fetal Cardiology covers all aspects of fetal heart disease and relevant non-cardiac aspects of diagnosis and management. This handbook provides clinically relevant guidance in a concise, practical format which is ideal for use in the clinic and as a quick reference for the reader.

Featuring new chapters on the three vessel trachea view and neurodevelopment issues in fetal cardiac disease, and brand new high-quality annotated images; this new edition is the definitive pocket guide to the subject.

Clearly structured to allow a systematic approach to diagnosis, decision making, and patient counselling, Fetal Cardiology is perfect as a refresher for experienced clinicians in fetal and cardiological care, or as an informative overview for the paediatrician, echocardiographer, and trainees in associated disciplines.

  • Provides a concise and clearly structured overview to all aspects of fetal cardiology, from diagnosis to management and counselling.
  • Uses bullet points and headings to provide complex information in an accessible format.
  • Filled with high-quality annotated illustrations and a colour plates section to aid understanding of specific topics and diagnostic techniques.
  • Designed to act as a quick refresher for the experienced clinician in the field of fetal cardiology, or as a comprehensive overview for trainees and associated health professionals.

New to this Edition:

  • New chapters on the three vessel trachea view and neurodevelopment issues in fetal cardiac disease.
  • Fully refreshed image selection, with new high-quality echocardiograms and annotated scans.

"Review from previous edition With huge practical experience of the subject, the authors...are amply qualified to write what is an amazing little book." - Dr Lawrence Impey, Consultant in Obstetrics and Fetal Medicine, The John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, UK

"Their combined perspective is apparent in the broad based and logical approach to the subject, which reflects a real life practical experience not just of fetal cardiac diagnosis, but crucially also of the wider clinical assessment which is so important in counselling." - Ian Sullivan, Consultant Cardiologist, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London, UK
