The first part of the book is dedicated to introducing the condition, discussing epidemiology, symptoms and diagnosis. This is followed by addressing issues of the condition encountered in special patient populations such as in preterm infants, apnea, neulorogic patients and cystic fibrosis, among others. The final part of the book is dedicated to therapeutic approaches from meditation to surgery and alternative approaches such as complementary medicine and hypnotherapy. The approaches and challenges in endoscopy are discussed in a final chapter.

His Ph. D. Thesis was on "Oesophageal pH monitoring for Gastro_Oesophageal Reflux in Infants and Children" in April 1991. He has more than 400 publications listed in Medline. He is the leading author of the 2009 guidelines of the North-American and European Societies of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, and will also be so for the updated version that will be published in 2017.
