Gives students extensive practice of phonological analyses, using data from real children. It teaches general principles by exposing students to the reasoning underlying the work of major thinkers in the field.
This study can provide an insight into the evaluation and treatment of individuals with communication difficulties. For use in this book it is defined as the study of the organization of sound by children acquiring their native language. By working on phonological problems students will develop the analytical skills necessary to use phonological data creatively. This book is intended to be used primarily by students in graduate and postgraduate courses on articulatory and phonological disorders. Sections are appropriate for courses in psycholinguistics, language acquisition, phonology and introductory courses in speech and language pathology.
