Presents a much needed practical guide for the application of nursing conceptual models. While this text provides information about the specifics of each conceptual model, the focus is on using the model in practice, which is where there is the biggest gap in the literature, and in nursing knowledge.
There is a general lack of understanding of how these diverse abstract and general perspectives of the discipline of nursing can be used to guide nursing practice, quality improvement projects, and nursing research. The purpose of this unique resource is to present a much needed practical guide for the application of nursing conceptual models. While this text will provide information about the specifics of each conceptual model, the focus will be on using the model in practice, which is where there is the biggest gap in the literature, and in nursing knowledge. The contents of the book have been designed to extent the relatively few examples of application of nursing conceptual models that exist in the literature and to provide a method for nurses and students to apply the models into practice. Although some books that address nursing conceptual models and theories include some practice examples and uses of the models and theories to guide research, no other book includes the wide scope of examples of practical applications that are included in the book.

Templates for practice methodologies that can be downloaded and used by readers to better understand each model, and templates to conduct quality improvement projects, literature reviews, descriptive qualitative studies, instrument development studies, correlational studies and experimental studies
Plethora of diagrams and visual elements to help readers understand the models and their application
A list of key terms for each conceptual model is included at the begining of each relevant chapter. In addition, a comprehensive bibliography is included
Powerpoint slides for instructors adopting the text
