The second edition of this text and atlas of brain imaging has been expanded and organized into two sections. The first deals with the basics of cerebral SPECT imaging, explaining the essentials; the second provides case studies and demonstrates current radiopharmaceuticals and imaging instruments.
Newly updated, revised and greatly expanded, this text/atlas covers functional brain imaging. The book has new information on instrumentation, particularly multi-detector and ring detector systems as well as single-head and dedicated systems, radiopharmaceuticals, including 99mTc-HMPAO and 99mTc-ECD, advanced imaging techniques, common technical pitfalls, normal correlative and functional neuroanatomy and image interpretation. Highlighting the Second Edition are new chapters on technical factors and functional anatomy as well as a substantially expanded collection of challenging case studies. Thoroughly described and documented with reproduced SPECT images are the pertinent clinical and imaging characteristics of: cerebrovascular disease; dementia; seizure disorders; trauma; and psychiatric disorders.
