This book offers rapid access to slice by slice CT descriptions of anatomical structures from PET/CT studies. It presents CT findings detected while reviewing PET/CT scans and includes principal MRI findings in diseases susceptible to PET/CT evaluation.
lt;p>Reading PET/CT scans is sometimes challenging. Not infrequently, abnormal findings on CT images are functionally silent and therefore difficult for nuclear medicine practitioners to interpret. Furthermore, in general only a low-dose CT scan is produced as part of the combined PET/CT study, and the resulting CT images may prove suboptimal for image interpretation. This atlas is designed to enable nuclear medicine practitioners who routinely read PET/CT scans to recognize the most common CT abnormalities. Slice-by-slice descriptions are provided of anatomical structures as visualized on CT scans obtained in PET/CT studies. The CT findings that may be detected while reviewing PET/CT scans of various body regions and conditions are then illustrated and fully described. The concluding section of the book is devoted to the principal MRI findings in diseases which cannot be evaluated using PETs/CTs.

Normal CT slice by slice: Brain.- Head and neck.- Thorax.- Abdomen.- Pelvis.- Para-physiological CT findings: Brain.- Head and neck.- Thorax.- Abdomen.- Pelvis.- Pathologic CT findings: Brain.- Head and neck.- Thorax.- Abdomen.- Pelvis.- MR for nuclear medicine: Brain.- Bone.- Pelvis.

lt;p>"This compact book aims to help nuclear medicine practitioners reporting PETCT who are otherwise unfamiliar with CT to recognise and interpret a range of CT abnormalities that may be functionally silent. ... the authors, who are all well renowned nuclear medicine physicians, have done a credible job putting together a collection of cases that may be useful to nuclear medicine trainees and practitioners without any prior CT experience." (Dr. Chirag Patel, RAD Magazine, September, 2015)

"Our opinion on this book remains certainly positive, also because it serves to occupy an almost empty space with a handy, clear and simple publication. We suggest this atlas as a standard text for nuclear medicine physicians and radiologists, residents and technicians whose work involves PET/CT imaging. It can also be suitable as a text for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses." (Sara M. d. A. Giorgio and Luigi Mansi, European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, Vol. 42, 2015)
