Prof. Dr. med. Karsten Schrör, ehemaliger Direktor des Instituts für Pharmakologie und Klinische Pharmakologie an der Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf, war bis 2010 Vorsitzender der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Pharmakologie in der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Experimentelle und Klinische Pharmakologie und Toxikologie e.V. (DGPT). 2012 wurde er mit der höchsten Auszeichnung der DGPT, der Schmiedeberg-Plakette, geehrt. Prof. Schrör ist Mitglied mehrerer nationaler und internationaler Fachgremien auf dem Gebiet der Thromboseforschung und Arzneimittelentwicklung.
