  • The only book to provide a focused perspective on the side effects of the skin, hair and nails in cancer patients
  • Effect of oncology drugs, clinical presentations and treatment recommendations covered in detail
  • Enables dermatologists and other practitioners to significantly improve the care of patients with cancer

This is the first book to focus on frequent and frequently disabling side effects involving the skin, hair, and nails in cancer patients. It provides detailed descriptions of mechanism-of-action in all current oncology drugs and the clinical presentation and mechanisms underlying their dermatologic side effects, alongside carefully presented treatment recommendations, allowing physicians to significantly enhance their care of patients with cancer.

Whereas existing oncology and dermatology textbooks only briefly deal with this topic, this resource offers dermatologists and other practitioners a focused perspective on cancer-related skin conditions.

Mario E. Lacouture, MD, is Associate Attending Dermatologist in the Department of Medicine at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He is a well recognized international authority on skin conditions in cancer patients, His clinical focus is the recognition and management of the side effects and conditions of the skin, hair, and nails that may arise in cancer patients and survivors as a consequence of surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, or transplantation. In 2012 published a well-received book for patients on this subject, Dr. Lacouture's Skin Care Guide for People Living With Cancer (Harborside Press).
