978-3-527-31469-0 (ISBN)
This is the first book to comprehensively combine cutting edge information about the pathophysiology and novel therapeutic strategies in multiple sclerosis. The topics range from responses of the immune system to brain damage processes, as well as from molecular mechanisms to novel therapeutic strategies. The editors are internationally known for their basic and clinical research and first rate authors guarantee detailed and up-to-date coverage.
Since 2002 Frauke Zipp has served as head of the newly founded Institute of Neuroimmunology at the Charite, University Medicine Berlin. She received her post--doctoral training at the Max--Planck Institute of Biochemistry, Martinsried, and the National Institutes of Health (Division of Neuroimmunology), Bethesda. Hugh Perry has been Professor of Experimental Neuropathology at the University of Oxford from 1996 to 1998 before taking over the same position at the University of Southampton where he is now heading the CNS Inflammation Group.
