SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment helps you to create composite applications quickly and efficiently -- this practical developer's guide shows you how. Using numerous examples you'll learn how to use the development tools and methods to build your own composite applications with SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1. In the detailed programming tutorials throughout the book, the authors guide you step-by-step through the worlds of CAF, Web Dynpro, Visual Composer, SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe, and Guided Procedures to help you decide which tool is best suited for your specific use cases. Numerous screenshots, code examples, and best practices, provided directly by SAP, enable you to quickly build your own composite applications and benefit from service-oriented software solutions. The book also includes a trial version of SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 on DVD, complete with all of the examples used in the book.

Jan Rauscher has been working at SAP since 1998. After six years of development work in Product Lifecycle Management, he changed to SAP NetWeaver Product Management. There, he assumed rollout tasks for composite applications tools (Composite Application Framework, Guided Procedures, Application Server). In this position, he is responsible for preparing and implementing training and workshops, as well as for creating demo applications that illustrate the options of the new SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment (SAP NetWeaver CE). Moreover, he supports consultants and colleagues with regard to technical questions on SAP NetWeaver CE, for example, during the ramp-up phase or installation. Currently, he assumes responsibility for the rollout of SAP NetWeaver CE at conferences and on the SDN website (http: //sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/ce). His email address is jan.rauscher@sap.com. Volker Stiehl studied Computer Sciences at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. When he joined SAP in 2004, his primary focus was on presales activities involving the Java EE stack of the SAP Web Application Server. In summer 2005, he joined the product management team of the Composite Application Framework where he was responsible for preparing specifications for composite applications development. With the introduction of SAP NetWeaver CE, his area of responsibility was extended to include the design of composite application architectures and their implementation using composition tools, such as the Composite Application Framework, Guided Procedures framework, or the SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer. Volker Stiehl speaks regularly at various conferences, such as SAP TechEd, SAPPHIRE, and JavaOne, about the topics related to the architecture and development of composite applications. Prior to joining SAP, he worked at Siemens as a consultant for distributed J2EE-based architectures and integration architectures using SAP integration technologies. Volker Stiehl's email address is volker.stiehl@sap.com.
