WebWork in Action
Manning Publications (Verlag)

WebWork helps developers build well-designed applications quickly by creating re-usable, modular, web-based applications. WebWork in Action is the first book to focus entirely on WebWork, written by its two primary developers. Like a true "Action" book, it is both a tutorial on WebWork and a sourcebook for its use in demanding, real-world applications. The book goes into considerable depth on how to get desirable web features with WebWork. It uses the same basic (continuing) example as in Manning's Hibernate in Action to show how to integrate WebWork with the popular Hibernate persistance framework.
Heading up Jive Software's Professional Services organization, Patrick Lightbody has worked for various technology companies, ranging from well-established giants such as Cisco Systems to tiny Silicon Valley startups. Patrick is the coauthor of Java Open Source Programming and spends his spare time contributing to various OpenSymphony projects, including WebWork and OSWorkflow. While he grew up in the heart of the Silicon Valley, Patrick now resides in Portland, OR, enjoying the beautiful year-round weather. Jason Carreira has been a developer and J2EE architect for 6 years. For the last 5 years he has designed and built enterprise financial software products. He recently joined ePlus where he works on next generation eProcurement solutions. In his spare time, he is a core developer of the XWork command pattern framework and WebWork MVC web framework at OpenSymphony. He lives in Rochester, NY—tolerating its bad weather—with his wife Cyndy and their three children.
