Advances in Applied Logics
Springer International Publishing (Verlag)
978-3-031-35758-9 (ISBN)
This book contains contributions from several international authors to topics of current interest, such as AI, intelligent systems, and logic applications in different branches of knowledge. Foundational aspects of the various techniques are also covered, notably non-classical formalisms. The tome is intended for researchers, undergraduate and graduate students, and lay readers.
The book is dedicated to researcher Seiki Akama on his sixtieth birthday. Akama is one of the critical scientists who dedicated himself to understanding the use of alternative logic in the various issues of AI, ranging from its foundations to concrete applications and philosophical reflections.
Jair Minoro Abe received B.A. and M.Sc. in Pure Mathematics from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He has also received the doctorate degree and Livre-Docente title from the same University. He is Full Professor at Paulista University, Brazil, and has served as Coordinator of the Logic Area at the Institute of Advanced Studies, University of São Paulo, Brazil (1987-2019). He dedicated his scientific career to the applications of paraconsistent systems. He is internationally recognized as one of the pioneers of the domain. His research interest topics include Paraconsistent Annotated
Logic and AI, ANN in Biomedicine and Automation, among others. He is Senior Member of IEEE.
